The Oxberry OxScan
The Oxberry OxScan 2000 converts individual frames of motion picture film into digital image files which are then processed by high-end graphics workstations. Once inside the graphics workstation, the "digital magic" of special effects is applied, turning the original film into a blockbuster, motion picturefilm. Scanning a 90 minute feature film is an extremely demanding task due to the need to digitize over 125,000 individual images, while maintaining pristine image quality. The slightest imperfection during image capture can result in artifacts which lessenimage quality and detract form the realism of the special effects.
At 1500 X 1000 the Oxscan 2000 produces more resolution then necesary for every massmedia except for big screen filmproductions. A resolution of 1500 pixels is more then twice the required resolution for NTSC, PAL and SECAM television and 10 percent above the high-resolution video standard and 16mm film. At 10 bit per color produces the OxScan 2000 more colour depth than required for any video presentation.
